Our Worm Farm

People need a worm farm because it helps our planet to grow.  The worms make the fertilizer for us.  They eat scraps and then they poo.  The moisture falls to the bottom of the worm farm container.  You need to turn the tap on and fill up the bucket with the liquid worm fertilizer.  Don't let the bucket overflow because it will spill and be smelly.  The worms need to stay wet.  If they don't stay wet they will die.

I would like to have a worm farm too, but I don't know how to set it up. Could you send your instructions to me please.

Hello 1/2C, I think it is great that you have a blog now. I look forward to hearing all about what you are doing in the classroom.

We have 4 chickens at our house that we give all our food scraps to. In return they give us yummy fresh eggs and their poo fertilizes our mango trees.

What a great idea to have a worm farm Year 1/2C. That's a great way to recycle scraps. What scraps are you giving your worms to eat?

Hi 1/2c can you tell me if there is anything that your worms don't like to eat?

I really like feeding our worms. They are happy and healthy worms because they eat fruit and vegetable skins and they make lots of fertiliser.

Your worm farm looks interesting. What are you going to do with the liquid fertiliser? Sounds like it will be great for the garden. What an interesting classroom you have at 1/2c.
